Weekend Closures & Restrictions on Valley Freeways
March 5 ~ 8

PHOENIX – There’s good news for Phoenix area drivers this weekend from the Arizona Department of Transportation. Freeway restrictions are mostly limited to overnight hours on projects that will provide more lanes and other travel improvements. ADOT is urging drivers to use caution and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place this weekend:

Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane in both directions between Perryville Road and Verrado Way in the West Valley from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (March 7) for work to add new lanes along the freeway. DETOUR: Please slow down and be prepared to merge safely in work zone.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes overnight between 24th and 32nd streets from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 8) for bridge and wall construction as part of project to add new lanes. Southbound State Route 51 and westbound I-10 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 closed overnight. DETOUR: Use adjacent local streets to travel beyond freeway-to-freeway ramp closures.

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Scottsdale Road in Tempe closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday (March 7) and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 8) for interchange improvements. Eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Scottsdale Road closed overnight from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (March 6). DETOUR: Consider using ramps at McClintock Drive.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Center Parkway closed overnight from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (March 6) for electrical system work. Eastbound Loop 202 frontage road between Priest Drive and Center Parkway also closed overnight. DETOUR: Consider Priest Drive on-ramp. Eastbound US 60 (Grand Avenue) narrowed to one lane overnight between Loop 303 and Greenway Road from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 8) for highway widening. US 60 narrowed to one lane in both directions overnight between 99th and 113th avenues from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 8) for highway widening. These same restrictions also are scheduled Monday through Thursday nights. DETOUR: Please slow down and be prepared to merge safely in work zone.

Southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) off-ramp at Guadalupe Road closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 8) for drainage pipe repair. Southbound frontage road also narrowed to one lane in the area. DETOUR: Use adjacent exits along southbound Loop 101.
