Team Mesa Adaptive Programs

These sports programs are designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities ages 6 through adulthood.

Upcoming Adaptive Opportunities

California Vacation Adventure is open for registration!
The group will participate in Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland and visit Universal Studios from September 28th-October 1st. This trip is for individuals 18 years and older with developmental disabilities. Spaces are limited so get signed up today! Download the Registration Packet or email jacquie.gallo@mesaaz.gov or call 480.644.4948 for additional information.

The adaptive partnership will be hosting a Movie in the Ballpark on Saturday, September 10th from 6pm-9pm at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa. BBQ and movie on the big scoreboard. Awards presentation to two outstanding athletes as well as Volunteer and Coach of the Year. Registered Team Mesa and AzDS athletes plus two guests are free. Donations accepted at entrance for additional guests.  It's not too late to RSVP to Lane.Gram@mesaaz.gov. Download the event flyer for additional information.  

Ready to learn a new sport? Come to our Floorball Clinic on Saturday, September 17th from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Broadway Recreation Center - 59 E. Broadway Rd., Mesa for ages 16+. Contact Oscar.Venegas@mesaaz.gov for additional information.

Summer Sports Programs
Adaptive golf  is currently practicing on
Tuesday's, at 7:00pm at Greenfield Lakes. Adaptive bocce is currently practicing on Thursday's at 6:45pm at Tower Point Resort  Adaptive soccer is starting Wednesday, September 14th. Open the registration packet for times and locations.

Upcoming Special Interest Classes
 Watch out Bobby Flay, Cooking with Harley is back! This six week Adaptive Cooking class will begin on Monday, September 12th at 6:00pm at Stapley Jr. High for ages 16+. Off-Broadway Theater program is currently meeting on Thursday's at 6:00pm at Red Mountain High School Drama Room for ages 10 and up.

Don't miss out on the fantastic TGIF Social Club activities coming up. Individuals ages 16+ with intellectual disabilities will enjoy community outings twice a month. A list of upcoming TGIF opportunities can be found on the City of Mesa web site.

Save the Date- Saturday, October 1st, 2016

Arizona Disabled Sports is excited to host the 23rd Annual Ability Ball Fundraiser supporting adaptive sports, recreation and social programs for youth and adults with physical, visual or intellectual disabilities. The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, October 1st, 2016 at the Tempe Mission Palms beginning at 5:00pm. The event includes a silent and live auction, dinner, music and entertainment. Certified Benefit Auctioneer, Bobby D. will return again this year to entertain the crowd and engage the attendees in an impressive live auction.

How can you support the Ability Ball?
- Donate to the silent or live auction
- Host a table of 8 or more guests
- Purchase an individual ticket
- Make a donation
- Purchase a program advertisement to represent a company or personal message
