Interim Police Chief Vicki L.
H. Myers joined the Mesa Police Department as a
Commander in November of 2007 and has been assigned
to the Superstition and Dobson Law Enforcement
Divisions and the Office of Operations. A native of
the mid-Michigan area, Chief Myers has more than 21
years of law enforcement experience, to include
Animal Control, Corrections, Canine, Dive Team,
Field Training, Law Enforcement Operations, and
Administration.
Highlights of Chief Myers
formal education include a B.A. degree in Business
from Northwood University in Michigan, and an M.P.A.
from Western Michigan University, with honors. She
is also a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy in
Virginia, the F.B.I. Law Enforcement Executive
Development Academy in Virginia, and the Michigan
Political Leadership Program from Michigan State
University.
Chief Myers is committed to
community involvement as is demonstrated by her
history of community participation. She has served
as the Campaign Chair and Co-Chair of the Mason Area
United Way, President and Vice President of the
Zonta Club of East Lansing Area Foundation, and has
been an active volunteer with the Area 8 Special
Olympics for more than ten years.
Throughout her career, Chief
Myers has received numerous awards and
commendations, to include a Governor’s Commendation,
Officer of the Year, Woman of Achievement and the
Lansing Community College Alumni of the Year.
