Superstition Patrol Division
Community Resource Officer
The Superstition Community Resource Officer is a sworn officer
who works with a crime prevention officer. The goal of the
Community Resource Officer is for the Mesa Police Department and
the citizens of Mesa to work in partnership with creative means
to solve community problems related to crime, quality of life,
and neighborhood conditions.
This officer attended specialized training related to the
methodology of community-based policing. He works with the
Special Investigations detectives on problems within the
Superstition Division that are recurrent and cannot be properly
handled by a patrol officer. These problems include, but are not
limited to, drug houses; stolen vehicles; vehicle, commercial
and residential burglaries; and nuisance complaints. He will
evaluate the problem and attempt to find a permanent solution.
Many resources are utilized in this process, including
involvement from other City of Mesa departments, other
government agencies, and members of the local community. Contact
our Community Resource Officer, Roger Sweet, at 480-644-2532.
