ComPsych (EAP)
ComPsych provides counseling on a confidential basis for matters that
interfere with work or home life. All clinicians are trained and experienced
in EAP issues, licensed in the state and are fully insured. ComPsych
provides crisis intervention with immediate assistance, information and
referral to community resources, self-help groups, child and elder care, and
more.
The counselors at ComPsych help with issues we all may face at
one time or another including work stress, depression, anxiety,
anger management, marital and other relationship problems,
divorce, separation, loss, alcohol and drug-related issues and
more (for a more complete listing, please go to
www.guidanceresources.com and click on their list of
services). ComPsych also provides information and referrals for
child and elder care, legal and financial problems, court
ordered services and other community resources.
The City of Mesa's EAP program provides short-term counseling
and referral services for up to eight sessions per person, per
plan year, at no charge to the employee and dependents.
Referrals to professionals and treatment sources are available
for ongoing or specialized therapy in your area.
All full-time employees and their dependents are eligible.
If referred for more specialized or extensive care, the employee
or dependent must be covered by a health insurance plan with
mental health benefits (City Medical Plans, or coverage through
another health insurance plan outside the City).
What is the difference between ComPsych and the City's Mental
Health Benefits ComPsych is available to all full-time
employees and their dependents and is a short-term assistance
program for issues requiring a minimal number of sessions.
The Mental Health benefits are only available to those who are
covered under one of the City of Mesa medical plans. Retirees
and their family members are not eligible to use the EAP
program.
ComPsych is completely confidential. Release of
information is only provided with the written consent of the
client (employee or dependent using the program). Release
of information may be given only if required by law (i.e.,
suspected child abuse).
