Marc Valenzuela joined the City of Mesa’s Office of Economic Development in June 2017 as an Economic Development Specialist.
Prior to his work with Mesa, Marc worked for Arizona State University serving as the Economic Development Project Manager. In this role, he worked to engage and partner with local and statewide organizations to build the state’s economy. He also managed special projects across the university including ASU’s successful efforts to become an Innovation and Economic Prosperity Designated University by the Association for Public and Land-Grant Universities. Before moving to Arizona, Marc held several positions in economic development and government relations in San Diego, California.
Marc is a graduate of Arizona State University with a master’s degree in Public Administration and bachelor’s degree in Public Service and Public Policy. He is an active member of the Arizona Association of Economic Development and Valley of the Sun United Way’s Generation United.
