|Ken Chapa joined the Office of Economic Development as a Project Manager in February 2014. Prior to joining the City of Mesa, Ken worked with the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) as a Vice President in both Business Attraction and Rural Development. While with the ACA he focused primarily on assisting rural Arizona communities with business recruitment and expansion strategies as well as working with regional partners to attract capital investment and job creation to the states metropolitan areas.
Ken has over 11 years of experience working in the economic development field, including more than eight years at the helm of the Arizona Film Commission in which he worked diligently to promote the state as a premier location for film and television productions.
Some of the companies Ken has worked with include: General Motors, Bridgestone North America, Accerl8 Technologies, Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate Entertainment, Commonwealth Dairy, and Franklin Foods. Originally from Tucson, AZ, Ken received a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Arizona State University.
