Natural Gas Safety Classroom Presentation

The City of Mesa offers a FREE natural gas safety presentation for elementary schools within Mesa's natural gas service area. The one-hour presentation is designed to fall within state standards for grades 4 through 6 and will enhance student knowledge of science, energy, and natural gas. The presentation will include a live demonstration and instruction on the following topics: 

  • Energy
  • Natural gas as an energy source
  • History of natural gas
  • How we get and transport natural gas  
  • Uses of natural gas
  • Properties and characteristics of natural gas
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Natural gas safety
  • Underground utilities
