Arizona Power Authority
The Arizona Power Authority (Authority) was formed as a result
of federal legislation that allocated a portion of power
produced from the Boulder Canyon Project (Hoover Dam) to
Arizona. The Authority is charged with the responsibility of
acquiring and marketing Arizona's 17.5 percent share of Hoover
power. The Authority has worked effectively with both
publicly-owned and privately-owned utilities in making available
hydropower from the Hoover Power plant to all major load centers
throughout Arizona at a minimal cost.
Western Area Power Administration
(WAPA)
WAPA markets and transmits reliable, cost-based hydroelectric
power, and related services. WAPA sells power from 56
power plants operated by the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers and the International Boundary and Water
Commission. Additionally, WAPA markets the United States' 24.3
percent entitlement (547 megawatts) from the coal-fired Navajo
Generating Station near Page, Arizona. Currently WAPA's maximum
installed capability is 10,394 megawatts.
Western Area Power
Administration - Desert Southwest Region
The Desert Southwest Region is one of four regions within
Western Area Power Administration, a Federal power marketing
administration. Western sells wholesale power and delivers bulk
wholesale transmission local utilities.

American Public Power
Association (APPA)
The American Public Power Association (APPA) is the service
organization for the nation's more than 2,000 community-owned
electric utilities that serve more than 40 million homes in the
U.S. It was created in 1940 as a non-profit, non-partisan
organization. Its purpose is to advance the public policy
interests of its members and their consumers, and provide member
services for the safe, adequate, reliable generation or
delivery of electricity at reasonable prices.
Arizona Blue Stake*
Arizona Blue Stake was established as a one-call notification
system by underground facility owners to assist excavators with
the statutory requirements to notify underground facility owners
prior to excavation. This damage prevention service is provided
free of charge to any individual or company planning to
excavate.
*The City of Mesa is represented on the Board of Directors. The
City of Mesa participates in this program for the following
reasons: to comply with State law, avoid injuries, prevent
costly damages and interruptions of facility services, save time
and money, avoid hazards, and eliminate construction delays.

Colorado River Energy
Distribution Association
CREDA (Colorado River Energy Distributors Association) is a
non-profit organization representing consumer-owned electric
systems that purchase federal hydropower and resources of the
Colorado River Storage Project (CRSP). CREDA was established in
1978, and serves as the "voice" for its members in dealing with
the Bureau of Reclamation (as the generating agency of the CRSP)
and Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) (as the marketing
agency of the CRSP).

Electronics Engineering (I.E.E.E)
The IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of
more than 380,000 individual members in 150 countries.
Through its members, the IEEE is a leading authority in
technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical
technology and telecommunications, electric power generation and
delivery, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others.
National Rural Electric
Cooperative Association
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is
the national service organization dedicated to representing the
national interests of consumer-owned cooperative electric
utilities and the consumers they serve. The association provides
national leadership and member assistance through legislative
representation before the U.S. Congress and the Executive Branch
and representation in legal and regulatory proceedings affecting
electric service and the environment.
