TThis project is complete
Construction on this project began in late September 2011 and is
estimated to be completed in April 2013.
The Brooks Pump Station was built in

The Lindsay Pump Station was built in
1978 and includes a pump station with eight existing pumps, and
a 10 million gallon reservoir. Like the Brooks Pump
Station, several of the pumps and motors are past their useful
life. The pump station experiences operational problems
with the pumps, failures of pump impellers, a problematic
reservoir mixing system, and other issues that continue to
affect the pump station life and performance.
This project will increase station
pumping capacity to meet existing water demands in the City
Water Zone as well as the projected water demands anticipated in
the current Water Master Plan. This project will also
improve water quality, improve the operation of the pumps,
install premium-efficiency motors, and install safe and reliable
chlorination systems.
The recommended total award amount
for this project is $6,963,907.50, based on the low bid of
$6,330,825.00 plus an additional $633,082.50 (10% allowance for
change orders). This project is funded from the FY 10/11
Water Bond Capital Program.
