West Mesa Sports Complex
A public meeting was conducted on February 11, 2014, to gather
public feedback on the park planning process.
Construction is estimated to begin Fall 2014 and estimated
to be completed in the Fall 2015.
The City of Mesa will be installing
new ball fields at the West Mesa Sports Complex (Kleinman
Park - north and formerly Powell Junior High School - south).
This project will include the installation of four fenced and
lighted softball fields at on the north side. These 300- foot
will feature skinned infields and will support 60-foot, 70-foot,
and 80-foot base pads. The parking
will be expanded, the playground will be relocated on site, and
the current restroom building will be renovated. The
improvements on the south side of the complex include four
fenced and lighted Little League fields. Two of these 225-foot
fields will feature skinned infields and two will have turf
infields. The Little League fields will support 60-foot and
70-foot base pads. A new restroom/concession building and new
parking will be constructed to serve the new fields. The
existing track and field will remain. All eight fields will be
equipped with backstops, covered dugouts, fenced "bullpen"
This project is funded through the voter-approved 2012 Parks
