All forms and documentation for benefits are due the first day of employment.   If you want benefits to commence on your date of hire, the Benefit Enrollment form must be submitted three (3) business days in advance.

Effective Date Options Overview

  • Option One - the employee's start date (enrollment form and verification documentation if applicable, are due in the Employee Benefits Office at least three (3) business days prior to the hire date for this option to be activated or
  • Option Two - the first of the following month.  This is the City's default option.

Deferred Compensation - 457 (b) Plan (Optional)
As a full-time employee, you are eligible to participate in the City's Deferred Compensation Program.  Enrollment into this program can be done at any time during your career with the City, including your first day of employment.
