Core Benefit Effective Date Options  

Options Overview

  • Option One - Immediate Benefits: You will be required to complete the Benefit Enrollment Form and submit this form to the Employee Benefit Office three (3) working days prior to your first day of employment if you are requesting your benefits be effective on your first day of employment.
  • Option Two* - First of Month Following Employment
  • Option Three* - First of the Month Following One Month of Continuous Employment

Non-Core Benefits
NON-CORE Benefits represent your voluntary short-term disability, voluntary supplemental life, long- term disability and Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage.

Deferred Compensation - 457 (b) Plan (Optional)
As a full-time employee, you are eligible to participate in the City's Deferred Compensation Program.  Enrollment into this program can be done at any time during your career with the City, including your first day of employment.
