2010 Summer
Competition Calendar
Between April 19 and May 12, 2010,
registration for aquatic team membership will only
be permitted to those families who reside in the MPS
boundary for that Jr. High. Starting May 13, 2010
registration for aquatic teams will be open to
anyone. On-site aquatic team registration will begin
May 29 during public swimming hours at each
facility.
The recreation teams are designed to provide
opportunities for youth to take the skills learned
in lessons to a competitive level in a fun team
environment. They provide a fun environment to
improve skill technique, increase fitness, and learn
various aspects of teamwork.
This exciting 6-8 week program offers hourly
practices four days a week. A weekly competition
among City pools provides an opportunity for
interaction with others and is a great event for the
entire family. The season closes in tournament style
with qualifying and league championship meets. These
meets bring participants from all
over the city together for a final competition where
awards are provided.
Participants unable to demonstrate the required
skills at the end of the first week will not be able
to continue participation in the team program.
Participants unable to meet the basic skill
requirement are encouraged to
take lessons in order to strengthen their skills.
