Residential Burglary Arrested
November 8, 2007
The Mesa Police Department arrested a suspect
who was responsible for five residential burglaries and a
vehicle burglary all within a few square miles. After an
extensive search by Mesa Police, 18-year-old Abel Angel
Ramos-Armendariz was arrested on October 26, 2007 inside a
residence hiding underneath a pile of clothes in the area of 900
S. MacDonald in Mesa.
In all six incidents Abel entered through a window after
forcing the window open. He would then enter and ransack the
residence looking for valuable items and cash throughout the
residence. Abel stated during his interview to detectives he
later sold or pawned the items he stole.
Mesa Police Detectives have been able to forensically link
Abel to all six burglaries. According to detectives, since July
they have noticed an increase of residential burglaries in
neighborhoods along 8th Avenue from Extension to Horne.
Detectives stated in many of police reported residential
burglaries from that area the method of operation was similar to
the cases Abel has been charged in. Detectives expect to uncover
more residential and vehicle burglaries and link them to Abel
through ongoing investigations.
The total amount of damage and value of items stolen by Abel
are at least $8,000.
This investigation was a job well done by all at the Dobson
Patrol Division.
