Mesa Police Link Two Homicides

The Mesa Police Department has linked two
unsolved homicides that occurred in Mesa, Arizona through
forensic evidence.
On November 1, 2004, a 25-year-old female victim,
identified as Alisa Marie Beck, was located deceased in an
alleyway in the area of Country Club and McLellan in Mesa. Alisa Beck was located partially clothed and the death
was ruled a homicide by the investigators of the Maricopa County
Medical Examiner's Office. Mesa Police Investigators have worked
extensively on this incident and have not established any
investigative leads.
On October 24, 2007, a 44-year-old female victim,
identified as Karen Jane Campbell, was located deceased on the
roadway in the area of 2200 N. Winthrop in Mesa. Karen
was unclothed when she was located. The Maricopa County Medical
Examiner's Office ruled this case as a homicide. Similar to Alisa
Beck's case, Mesa Police have analyzed every piece of
information; however, they have not been successful in
developing any possible leads.
Mesa Police Investigators have been able to establish the two
female victims had a history of drug abuse and prostitution.
Alisa and Karen did not have an established permanent residence
and their associates were known to have been drug abusers.
Due to the fact these cases are actively on going and
sensitive, we cannot provide specific information on how these
cases are connected at this time.
