Investigators Seek Public Assistance In Solving Murder Of
Karen Jane Campbell

Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 5:00 a.m., the Mesa Police
Department responded to the report of a dead body lying in the
roadway in a north Mesa neighborhood. Police received a call
from an individual delivering newspapers in the area of 2700 E.
Leonora who reported seeing the body in the roadway at
approximately 4:53 a.m. Uniformed patrol officers immediately
responded to the area and confirmed that the body in the roadway
was that of a female later identified as Karen Jane Campbell and
that she was in fact deceased.
An autopsy was completed by the office of the Maricopa County
Medical Examiner and revealed that Campbell died as a result of
homicidal violence. The investigation has revealed that Campbell
was known to associate with drug users and to frequent the area
of Main Street between Country Club and Dobson Road. Anyone with
