Mesa Police Department Awarded New Grant Funding For DUI
Enforcement
February 6, 2009
The Mesa Police Department has been recognized for excellent
quality and leadership in DUI enforcement. The Mesa Police
Department is proud to announce the receipt of grant funding
from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. The grant funding
was awarded for DUI enforcement to improve the safety of the
streets in Mesa. The Governor's Office of Highway Safety awarded
$75,000 to the Mesa Police Department Traffic Division for DUI
enforcement and DUI Task Force operations.
The Mesa Police department will utilize the grant funds to host
or participate in monthly and holiday season DUI Task Force
deployments. Mesa Police officers will be able to perform
additional DUI enforcement without depleting the daily manpower
resources currently available for traffic enforcement.
The Mesa Police Department is proud to work in partnership with
the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. Our agencies are
dedicated to improving the safety of our roadways, reducing
collisions, and apprehending DUI offenders.
