Local Doctor Charges With 46 Additional Counts Of Sex Abuse

On Friday, June 5, 2009 the Mesa Police Department arrested a
local doctor for two counts of sex abuse. The case involved Dr.
Richard Lewis, 53, who is accused of fondling two different
female patients during medical exams.
After making the investigation public and conducting further
investigation, detectives located an additional 16 victims. At
the completion of victim interviews, detectives found probable
cause to charge Dr. Lewis with the following additional counts:
- 1 count of sexual assault
- 46 counts of sexual abuse
- 2 counts of assault
