Murder-Suicide Investigation
September 19, 2009
On September 19, 2009 at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Mesa
Police Department responded to the 2500 block of South
Pennington for a report of a possible suicide. When officers
arrived, they discovered the adult female resident of the home
was dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. As
officers continued to check the home, they found the couple's
two teenage children also dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
The deceased are identified as Susan Mullaly (50) and her two
sons, Ryan (15) and Nicholas (12).
The initial call was reported when the husband and father of the
family arrived home from work. When he entered the home, he
discovered the deceased inside and whet to a neighbors to call
police. At this time there is no reason to believe that Mr.
Mullaly had any involvement in the commission of any crimes.
