New Front Lobby Hours At Mesa Police Headquarters

Effective August 2, 2010, there will be a significant change in
the hours of operation for the front lobby of Mesa Police
Headquarters. Currently the lobby located at 130 N. Robson is
open to the public and staffed 24 hours a day. After moving
through the budget reduction process for the current fiscal
year, the staffing required for this position has been
significantly reduced.
The new hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 8:00
am to 5:00 pm. The front lobby to the Mesa Police Department
Headquarters building will also be closed on weekends and
holidays.
A direct ring down phone has been installed near the front doors
of the Mesa Police Department Headquarters building. This phone
can be utilized after hours for police assistance with
in-custody court viewing, bond payments, or reports of criminal
activity. The ring down phone will go directly to Police
Communications, who will determine how the request for service
will be handled.
The Mesa Police Department remains dedicated to providing
quality police service to the citizens of Mesa. This change in
staffing was a very difficult decision. We did not take it
lightly and understand that it may impact citizens seeking
police service. Our goal is to continue to provide the highest
level of police service during these difficult financial times.
