Application Open For Reserve Officer
May 7, 2010
The Mesa Police Department is currently seeking community
members for the Reserve Police Officer program. The Reserve
Police Officer program is made up of people from all walks of
life, many who have satisfying civilian positions, but simply
wish to do police work as a way of serving their community.
Applicants will be required to complete the same testing and
screening process as all other police officers employed by the
City of Mesa. If selected for the position, applicants would be
required to complete 640 hours of training through the
Chandler-Gilbert Community College Law Enforcement Academy.
Applicants would be responsible for any cost associated with
their training. With successful completion of the academy,
Reserve Officers would receive AZPOST Peace Officer
Certification and have the same authorities as a full-time
police officer.
