Alert Detectives Nab Armed Robbery Suspects
June 20, 2011
On June 17, 2011 at approximately 9:40 pm, two detectives in an
unmarked vehicle noticed two male subjects running from an
apartment complex and jump into a waiting vehicle. Due to their
suspicious actions, the detectives began following the vehicle.
A few moments later, an emergency call was dispatched for an
armed robbery in the area where the subjects were seen running
to the vehicle. The description of the suspects matched the two
seen running to the waiting vehicle. The victim reported that
she had been held at gun and knife point and robbed of her purse
and cell phone.
Detectives were able to contact and detain the suspects at a
nearby apartment complex. During a search, the victim's wallet,
purse and cell phone were located in their possession. The
victim, although shaken by the crime, was able to identify one
of the suspects as being involved.
This was a good example of alert officers in the right place at
the right time. Combined with the assistance of the victim for
identification, we were able to immediately remove these violent
criminals from the street.
All three suspects have been charged with one count of Armed
Robbery, a class two felony.
Suspect #1, Tywinn Crawford, 18
Suspect #2, Juvenile male, 17
Suspect #3, Amanda Courtney, 21 (driver)
