Applications Open for Reserve Officers
February 28, 2011
The Mesa Police Department is currently seeking community
members for the Reserve Police Officer program. The Reserve
Police Officer program is made up of people from all walks of
life, many who have satisfying civilian positions, but simply
wish to do police work as a way of serving their community.
Applicants will be required to complete the same testing and
screening process as all other Police Officers employed by the
City of Mesa. If selected for the position, applicants would be
required to complete all required training through the
Chandler-Gilbert Community College or Glendale Community College
Law Enforcement Academies. Applicants would be responsible for
any cost associated with their training. With successful
completion of the academy, Reserve Officers would receive AZPOST
Peace Officer Certification and have the same authorities as a
full-time police officer.
