Teacher's Purses Targeted in Classrooms While at Recess
February 2, 2012
Over the past few weeks, a thief has been stealing credit/debit
cards from pushes while teachers are out of their classrooms at
recess.
On three different occasions, the suspect has walked onto school
campuses in Mesa. The suspect will target a classroom when the
teacher is out and locate purses and wallets often left under
their desks. The male suspect takes only the credit and debit
cards from the purses and then uses them a short time later at a
nearby business. On two of the incidents, the suspect was
actually contacted by a teacher on campus asking why he was
there. The suspect would make an excuse about looking for his
child or the office. When directed to the office, he would act
as though he was going to the office and then leave the school.
The suspect has been captured on surveillance cameras several
times using the stolen credit cards. The Mesa Police Deaprtment
is seeking the public's assistance in the identification and
location of the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged
to call Mesa Police at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at
480-WITNESS.

6'04" to 6'06" tall
230-240 lbs.
