Cab Driver Arrested for Asking for Sex Acts as Payment
February 27, 2013
On
February 26, 2013 Mesa Police Detectives arrested Eric Vincent
(shown at right), 43, for two counts of Solicitation of
Prostitution and one count of Sexual Abuse.
On February 22, the Mesa Police Department received a complaint
from a female that a cab driver had offered to waive her fare in
exchange for sexual favors. The victim declined the offer. When
they arrived to her destination, she paid her fare and exited
the cab.
On February 23, the Mesa Police Department received information
that a second female had complained to the cab company about a
driver offering to waive her fare in exchange for sexual favors.
The second victim was picked up in a different East Valley
location, but described the same cab driver. The victim declined
the offer, paid her fare and was dropped off at her destination.
With the full cooperation of Discount Cab Company, the driver
was identified as Eric Vincent. On February 26, Vincent
voluntarily came to the Mesa Police Department for an interview.
During the interview, Vincent admitted to offering to waive the
cab fare in exchange for sexual favors. He was placed under
arrest at that time.
Because of the nature of these crimes, there is the possibility
of additional victims. If anyone has had a similar contact with
a cab driver or knows of a similar encounter, they are
encouraged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-
644-2211, option 2, or Silent Witness at 480-Witness.
