Hooded Bandit Series

January 14, 2013

On January 4, a series of robberies began in the East Mesa area involving individuals wearing hooded sweatshirts who enter a variety of businesses near closing time.  The series began with both suspects committing the robberies together and evolved to only one of the suspects entering the businesses. The suspect either displays or simulates having a handgun. There have been a total of 9 robberies in this series since January 4.

Suspect description:  White or Hispanic males, wearing hoodies, sometimes with bandanas covering their faces. Both suspects cover their hands. Suspects are described as being late teens/early twenties, 5'5" to 5'11" tall and 150 lbs. One of the suspects is described as having a thin mustache and wearing prescription glasses with gold trim in several incidents. In one incident, the suspect was described as having an obvious pigeon toe on right foot when walking. A handgun has been used or simulated in multiple incidents.

Vehicle description:  There has been multiple unconfirmed vehicle descriptions, including a light colored older passenger car; small dark SUV; and a black 4-door or small car with three possible primer or faded paint spots on passenger side.
