About
Explorer Post #2055
The Mesa Police Department has an effective Law Enforcement
Explorer Program for young adults through five disciplines:
- Career Opportunities
- Leadership Experiences
- Life Skills
- Citizenship
- Character Education
Explorers meet weekly to study various laws and
participate in hands-on experiences, such as traffic stops,
traffic accident investigations, crime scene investigations,
evidence processing, radio code procedures and pistol shooting.
Explorers not only learn about law enforcement, but are also
taught discipline.
Past and Present Mesa Police Explorer
program
The first Mesa Police Explorer Advisors were Officer Alan
Bradly and Officer Duffy Nielson. The Post started with 17
members, eight of which were also Eagle Scouts.
Over the
years, the interest in the Explorer Program has consisted of many Explorers graduating from the program and moving into
a career in law enforcement. The Mesa Police Explorer program is
currently a high energy youth group that participates in many
aspects of law enforcement. If you are between the ages of 14
and 19, have a clean criminal history and are maintaining at
least a "C" grade average in school, you are welcome to join our
ranks.
