Bogus Prizes
Bogus prizes and sweepstakes are still the most frequent
telemarketing frauds reported. Nigerian money offer scams rose
to the top ten in 2001. Canada accounts for over 50 percent of
fraudulent prize/sweepstakes companies. Advance fee loan scams
are also rising -- please be careful when you pay up front for
something -- you may never receive the goods.
