Obituary Scam
Con artists are reading the obituaries looking for
information on seniors that have passed away. They are then
contacting the surviving spouse and telling them that they
represent the Area Agency on Aging and they want to assist them
with documents such as Power of Attorney, etc.
A spokesperson
from the Area Agency on Aging said they do not make such calls,
nor do they offer those services.
