The Municipal Security Unit consists
of Uniformed Personnel (38 Security Officer, 6 Shift
Security Supervisors and 1 Supervisor) and
Support Staff (Lieutenant, Program Assistant,
Administrative Assistant and Security Systems
Technician.
Municipal Security Officer
Must be 18 years of age.
Must be in good physical and mental health.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Must not have a history of criminal or improper
personal conduct that may affect suitability for security work.
Must possess a United States high school diploma or G.E.D.
equivalent.
United States Citizenship required.
Must have six months of experience as a security officer,
police officer or military police officer.
Municipal Security Officer Trainee
Must be 18 years of age.
Must be in good physical and mental health.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Must not have a history of criminal or improper
personal conduct that may affect suitability for security work.
Must possess a United States high school diploma or G.E.D.
equivalent.
United States Citizenship required.
One year public Contact experience
Communications Center
Must complete requirements and training of Security Officer or Trainee
Computer Literate
Certified typing speed of 35 wpm
Ability to work within a confined area under conditions requiring close contact
with other employees, often during stressful situations
Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously
Must pass hearing test
Shift Supervisor
Must possess a United States high school diploma or G.E.D.
equivalent.
2 years experience in the security, police or military field.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Supervisor
Must possess a United States high school diploma or G.E.D.
equivalent.
3-5 years experience in the security field, with at least one year as a security
officer and one year as a supervisor with management responsibilities.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
