Mesa Police Department Municipal Security

Municipal Security is responsible for responding to security situations and alarm calls, assessing any problems and bringing about a resolution, manning a visitors' desk to prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas, answering routine inquiries, logging entries, directing visitors to appropriate areas, escorting personnel from buildings after normal business hours, and performing security checks.

A Municipal Security Officer corrects infractions through verbal warning, expelling unruly persons, and detaining more serious offenders until the proper authorities arrive. The Municipal Security Team receives training both on the job and in a classroom setting via a thorough, detailed training program.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Municipal Security Unit is proactive in deterring crime and initiating or enhancing security programs and philosophies.  This is accomplished by using a blend of technology and qualified security personnel to protect the City of Mesa's assets.

Vision:

To protect the city of Mesa's assets: employees, property and information by providing a visible security presence to promote a safe environment.
