Mesa Police Department Records Division
The Records Division serves as the central repository for all police reports and
related records. Records produces a monthly statistical report which is sent to the FBI
for tracking crime.
Citizens wishing to obtain a copy of a police report may request
one in person or by mail. Victims of a criminal offense may
receive one free copy of a report in which they are listed as
the victim. (This does not include video/audio tapes or photos.)
ARS 13-4401.19 defines victim as a person against whom
the criminal offense as been committed, or if the person is killed or
incapacitated, the person's spouse, parent, child or other lawful
representative, except if the person is in custody for the offense or is
accused.
For others, the copy fee for police reports is $5.00 for
the first 50
pages and $0.20 a page thereafter. Certified copies are an additional $10.00 per report.
To process a request, please use the Public Records
Request form and provide a report number (if
available), date, time, and location of the incident, or name(s) of the person(s)
involved. Requests for copies may take 14 days or more to process, depending on the
nature of the incident and if the case is still under investigation.
Requests should be mailed to: Mesa Police
Department, Records Division, 130 N. Robson, Mesa AZ 85201. Checks
should be made out to Mesa Police
Department.
