Projects for Scouts

We wish to assist you in development of your Scout project.

The City of Mesa asks that you select projects that do not involve playground equipment or routine maintenance work of City property and facilities.  Park projects should be permanent installations and capable of withstanding the test of time so your children may see your project as an example when they become Scouts.

Consider your resources and abilities when selecting a project.  Some troops specify a monetary value ($200-$400) for each project and commit funding as well as time to the projects.  The City of Mesa is not able to help fund projects, Scouts are solely responsible for all associated costs of the project.

What to do

When your project selection has been made, call the appropriate contact person:

Included in this schedule should be:
  • Project start and completion dates
  • Project details: include daily procedures, explaining how and when each phase will progress throughout project completion
  • Materials and supplies you will use and where they will come from
  • Names and phone numbers of the adults that will be supervising the project during construction

The below list is designed to stimulate ideas for your project and is not a complete indication of all projects that you can do. Not all project requests will be approved, all project requests are subject to review by the City.
