Bulk Item Collection Program
The City offers residents a bulk item curbside
pickup service for a nominal fee. This service
includes the collection of items such as yard
waste, furniture, mattresses, and other household items that
do not fit into a barrel.
- DO place bulky items at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection
day.
- DO place light weight items such as grass, palm tree skins, bark, twigs,
wood pieces and other small items in plastic bags or small boxes.
- DO place cactus in small cardboard boxes. This will protect our
crews as they handle this material.
- DO cut items such as tree branches, wood, and carpet and tie them into
bundles not to exceed 24" in diameter, 48" in length, or 60 pounds
in weight.
- DO put out furniture as is for collection, such as tables, chairs, and
couches.
- DO NOT place your items out for collection before 6:00 p.m. the day prior
to your scheduled collection day.
- DO NOT put dirt, rock, gravel, cement, shingles, bricks, blocks,
oil, paint, batteries, or any hazardous materials out for collection.
City crews will not collect these items.
- DO NOT use bulk item service to dispose of cardboard boxes.
Cardboard can be recycled. Please use your blue recycling barrel (for
residents with curbside collection service) or drop it off at the nearest
cardboard
recycling site.
- The City of Mesa does not collect used tires. If you have automobile
tires that you need to discard, bring them to our Household
Hazardous Waste Collection events or contact the
Maricopa County
Solid Waste office
at (602) 506-7060 for the nearest drop-off location.
Bulk item collection charges vary, depending on the amount
of material to be picked up, and start at $19.99. To schedule a bulk item pickup or for more information,
please call Customer Service at (480) 644-2221. Residents may also submit
an online request.
Mesa residents may also use the
Salt River Landfill
as an alternative bulk item disposal option.
