Clean Sweep/Green Sweep - Neighborhood Cleanup Program

Mesa residents interested in hosting a community
cleanup event in their neighborhood are invited to
submit their application for the Clean Sweep/Green
Sweep Program. Under this program, the City of
Mesa is able to provide large trash and green waste
recycling containers to allow residents to clean
their yards, remove litter from the neighborhood and
haul off old furniture, mattresses and other
unsightly debris.
Cleanup events are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis; subject to

Items placed in the Green Sweep container should NOT be bagged.
Palm fronds and palm trees are not accepted in the Green Sweep container. ** under 12" in diameter only; branches larger than 12" should be placed

To
participate in the Clean Sweep/Green Sweep Program, individuals must be City of
Mesa solid waste residential customers receiving curbside barrel service. In addition,
signatures from a minimum of ten neighbors must be submitted in order to request
this program for your area. Neighborhoods may schedule a Clean Sweep/Green
Sweep event once per year (based on fiscal year;
July -June). Please
note: Contractors hired
to maintain common areas (i.e.-landscapers) are not permitted to use containers during cleanup event.

The container is provided at no additional cost to eligible Mesa residents. Each cleanup requires a designated person from the
neighborhood to fill out the necessary paperwork to initiate the Clean
Sweep/Green Sweep request process. This person will be responsible for the
following items:
- Completing a roll-off service agreement
- Submitting a list of all participating homeowners
- Providing assistance in determining and securing locations to set
containers
- Ensuring that the containers do not become overloaded
- Distributing neighborhood notification flyers provided by City of Mesa to residents two weeks prior
to event to inform them of scheduled cleanup days and container
locations
