Do I need to worry about the upcoming change to digital television?

If your television comes equipped with a digital tuner or you are currently subscribing to cable/satellite service, you should be ready to receive digital television transmissions.

Learn about the digital tv transition coming February 17, 2009 and how it will impact your current household television sets.

What should I do with my old electronics?

Residents can recycle their old electronic equipment, such as computers, televisions, stereo equipment, etc., at any of the City's Household Hazardous Waste collection events.

Computers in working condition may also be donated to AzSTRUT.

What about fluorescent light bulbs?

Fluorescent and compact fluorescent light bulbs do offer a number of environmental benefits but also contain traces of mercury and therefore should be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner. Please follow these guidelines to properly dispose of these bulbs:

  1. DO NOT dispose of them in your regular trash.
  2. Place bulbs in a cardboard box or other container that will help ensure they do not get broken.
  3. Bring the bulbs to a Household Hazardous Waste collection event or take them to any local Home Depot.

For more information, call the Mesa Recycling Hotline at (480) 644-2222.
