City of Mesa customers can call and report problems such as water leaks,
water taste, and odor concerns 24 hours a day. Emergency issues, such as
pipeline breaks or leaks, are investigated immediately, and repairs are
prioritized based on the severity of the leak.
The Water Resources Department will repair leaks to its water meters and
water mains. Leaks on the customer's side of the meter, including the pipe
between the meter and the building, the irrigation system or indoor plumbing,
are the responsibility of the customer.
Sewer line clogs or backups at your residence or business are experiences no
one wants to deal with, particularly if you are not sure where to call.
Sewer line mains located in the street or alley are the responsibility of the City to clean and repair.
The connection to the sewer main and all service lines from the main to the home
are the responsibility of the property owner. For additional information, please

When you turn on the faucet in Mesa, you can be assured of safe,
clean drinking water. Mesa relies on three sources of drinking
water: Salt and Verde River water from Salt River Project,
Colorado River water from the Central Arizona Project, and
groundwater from 38 City wells.
Mesas wastewater is collected through many miles of sewer
lines, and treated at one of three water reclamation plants.
These facilities use various processes to achieve Class A+
standards for reclaimed water. Reclaimed water can then be used
on golf courses, as crop irrigation, recharged back into the
ground, or discharged to natural waterways.
The Eastern Canal is the dividing line between the Mesa's two
major water service areas. The canal runs diagonally southeast
through Mesa from Gilbert and McDowell roads to Greenfield and
