New at the Main Library: The Healthbrary
Check out Fitbits and blood pressure monitors for free
Thanks to a generous donation from the Mayo Clinic, library card holders interested in learning more about their health routines can now check out a Fitbit Charge HR or blood pressure cuff for free.
“We are always looking for creative ways to benefit the lives our patrons,” Library Director, Heather Wolf said. “With Healthbrary, patrons can monitor their health on these devices and see if they like it prior to purchasing one. We anticipate Healthbrary to be as successful as Stuffbrary and hopefully expand to our other branches.”
Ten electronic monitoring cuffs and ten FitBit Charge HR will be available for checkout at the Main Library, 64 E. First St. Patrons must fill out a short survey prior to checkout. Instructions are included with each device and all Healthbrary items can be checked out for three weeks, with no renewals. A $1/day late fee will accrue with each item that is overdue.
