Is your business struggling due to COVID-19? Could you use some training, education, and coaching to get it back on track? Would you prefer your customized training in Spanish?
The City of Mesa is partnering with Local First Arizona, Prestamos, and the East Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to provide FREE small business technical assistance webinars, online training, and coaching in Spanish for Mesa small businesses affected by COVID-19.
"We are excited to provide the Mesa CARES Technical Assistance Program in Spanish to Mesa's small businesses,” Mayor John Giles said. “It’s our goal to reach out to all struggling businesses in our community and help them through this pandemic."
These events will begin August 7 and run through December. They will cover the following topics in Spanish through a mix of online classes with interactive discussions, group coaching, and one-on-one counseling – all delivered by subject matter experts:
- Tax Preparation/PPP
- Adapting in the Midst of Change
- E-Commerce: Boutique Retail, Mom and Pops, Restaurants
- Understanding Business Insurance
- Selling in the Time of COVID
- Customer Service
- Access to Capital/Credit Building
- Advanced E-Commerce
- Debt Relief
- Supply Chain Management
“Many Hispanic business owners in Mesa have been struggling and unsure where to turn because of the language barrier,” District 5 Councilmember David Luna said. “Offering this program in Spanish is indicative of the City of Mesa’s commitment to our Hispanic Community and our desire to assist them as they navigate through these trying times.”
Businesses can apply online in Spanish or English at www.MesaAz.Gov/CARESBizTechAssist. Anyone needing help completing the application may contact the Mesa CARES Call Center at 480-644-CARE (2273). The call center is open Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Mesa CARES Small Business Technical Assistance Program is part of the Mesa CARES Initiative that supports individuals, families, and businesses impacted by COVID-19. Funding comes from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
