The State hereby gives notice that, in addition to the persons named in the police report(s), the State may call one or more of the Criminalists from the Mesa Police Crime Lab to testify.

The State hereby gives notice that the exhibits which the State may introduce at trial may include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Discoverable materials are available for inspection at the Office of the City Prosecutor at 250 East First Avenue, Suite 222, Mesa, AZ (phone: 480-644-2210) or the Mesa Police Department. A defendant or attorney who wishes to inspect discoverable materials should make arrangements to do so through the prosecutor assigned to the case.

  • Discoverable materials may be obtained from the Office of the City Prosecutor upon request and payment of a $5.00 copying fee. This fee does not include any of the following, but are available for inspection upon request and payment of the additional fee as designated below:

  2. Alco-sensor logs
  3. Blood, urine, or breath test instrument documentation
  4. Field Sobriety Test (FST) manuals

Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) logs

  • Blood/Urine samples – All blood/urine samples will be held until disposition of the case. The samples are available for re-testing.Requests to re-test the blood or urine should be directed to the Office of the City Prosecutor. All blood and urine samples, however obtained, will be destroyed 60 days after the disposition of this case.

Request for Discovery

The State of Arizona hereby requests the Defendant to disclose to the State, in writing, within twenty (20) days after the prosecutor’s disclosure, the following information:

  1. Provide the Prosecutor with a written notice specifying all defenses as to which he will introduce evidence at trial including those listed in Rule 15.2(b) and any others. The notice shall specify for each defense the persons, including the defendant himself, whom he will call as witnesses at trial in support thereof. It may be signed by the Defendant or his counsel and shall be filed with the Court.
  2. The names and addresses of all persons, other than the Defendant himself, whom he will call as witnesses at trial, together with all statements made by them in connection with the particular case.
  3. The names and addresses of experts whom he will call at trial, together with the results of their physical examinations and of scientific tests, experiments or comparisons, including, within thirty (30) days of this request, all written reports and statements, made by them in connection with the particular case.
  4. A list of all papers, documents, photographs and other tangible objects, which he will use at trial.
