The Diversity Office is very committed to providing the best services possible to City of Mesa employees and the Mesa community. From our workforce initiatives to our community programs and services, the Diversity Office strives to promote fairness and inclusion.

In an effort to build relationships with community members, businesses and organizations to address community diversity issues, the Diversity Office commonly works with:

  • Minority Groups
  • Citizen Groups
  • Colleges and Universities
  • Non-Profit Organizations
  • Various Religious Groups
  • Individual Neighborhoods
  • Other City Agencies
  • Other City Departments

The City of Mesa has also designated Ruth Giese, Office of Diversity Administrator, to serve as a resource for Mayor, City Council and the public with the purpose of elevating concerns and program opportunities in the following

  • Arizona ADA Coordinators Network
  • Regional Human Relations Committee
  • Point of Contact for the LGBT Community
  • Title VI Complaints
  • Diversity Issues within the Organization
  • Point of Contact for City of Mesa Employees on Diversity Related Issues
  • Diversity Training and Resources
