The Home Safety Education (HSE) Program is a free MFMD program available to all City of Mesa residents. The program aims to reduce the risks of fires and falls within the home and to link citizens to outside resources as needed. Let us help you! Call now to request your FREE home safety check.

The HSE Program will send a trained MFMD volunteer to your home to help you identify possible hazards within the home. The volunteer will make suggestions and immediate changes wherever possible, including:

  • Kitchen/Cooking Safety
  • Fire prevention measures
  • Fall prevention measures
  • Fire extinguisher education
  • Oxygen safety
  • Home escape plans or 'EDITH' (Exit Drills In The Home)
  • Smoke alarm checks/installation

If needed, the volunteer will provide you with batteries and a smoke alarm(s). Alarms for the deaf and hard of hearing are also available.
