Events in Mesa

Under the leadership of Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman, Mesa’s America 250 Planning Committee will bring a series of events that will reflect on America’s rich history and look ahead to the next chapter of our nation’s story.

As the celebration unfolds, event details will be added here. Mesa’s America 250 events will culminate in the Arizona Celebration of Freedom on July 4, 2026.

Friday, April 18: Two Lanterns for Tomorrow

We will mark the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride and the beginning of America’s Semiquincentennial celebrations by lighting City Hall and The Plaza at Mesa City Center in red, white and blue. After sunset, two beacons will illuminate the ASU MIX Center screen in tribute to the lanterns that signaled the beginning of America’s fight for freedom 250 years ago.
