Mesa plans to construct a new roadway connection on Ray Road from Ellsworth Road to Hawes Road. Improvements will provide three lanes in each direction, new pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalks, storm drain, street lighting and retention basins. In addition, there will be traffic signal improvements at Ellsworth and at Skyline.

Project Phasing

December 1st, 2025, through February 2026, traffic on Ray Road will be shifted onto a portion of the new Ray Road alignment and new Skyline roadway (traffic will remain one lane in each direction, map below/attached). This will allow Sunland Asphalt (contractor) to commence roadway improvements on the north side of Ray Road from the westernmost driveway at Nellis Auction to Hawes Road. Due to the 3-feet vertical grade difference in the new roadway alignment, we will need to temporarily close the westernmost driveway at Nellis Auction.
