Timeline

To minimize disruption along this high-traffic corridor, construction segments will be phased.

Phase 1 – Northbound Widening

Construction will begin at Ellsworth Road and Germann Road, progressing northward in approx. 1-mile segments at a time. This is to widen the roadway from two lanes to three lanes in the northbound direction. Southbound lanes will remain unaffected during this phase when possible.

Phase 2 – Southbound Widening

After completing northbound improvements, crews will shift to the southbound lanes, starting at SR-24 and moving south to Germann Road. Northbound traffic will remain open with minimal restrictions during this phase.

Phase 3 – Median and Landscape Improvements

The final phase will focus on center median modifications and landscape/irrigation enhancements.

Impacts

  • Travel lanes will be reduced to one lane through the active work areas under construction.
  • The opposite side of the roadway will generally have no lane restrictions when possible.
  • Electronic message boards will be used to post restrictions and dates.
  • Alternate routes and signed detours will be posted to avoid delays.
  •  Drivers should expect slower traffic and possible delays through the active work zones.
  •  Access to business driveways and intersecting roads will largely be maintained throughout the project.

Thank you for your patience as we make these critical infrastructure improvements.
