Fire Prevention
The most effective way to prevent loss of life and property from fire is through prevention efforts. The Fire Prevention Team, under the direction of the Fire Marshal, supports this goal by working in the community to enforce adopted codes, educate about fire hazards, and assist businesses and residents to implement effective fire safety plans.
Fire Prevention oversees the following key areas:
- Fire Safety Operational Permits and Fire Use Permits
- Fire Inspections
- Fire Investigations
- Fire Safety and Risk Reduction Education
We are reviewing the 2024 ICC, 2023 NEC, and 2017 ICC A17.1 codes for possible adoption in 2025. Proposed amendments will be publicly available in the coming months. We welcome community input in the adoption process and will continually provide updates at future public meetings. Please submit any questions or comments here.
