Downtown Micromobility and Parking Plan

We are creating a Micromobility and Parking Plan to evaluate and enhance transportation options as the Downtown Mesa area grows. The plan will focus on existing and long-term parking needs for downtown as well as how to create a more walkable, sustainable, and multimodal transportation network while exploring options for improved connectivity between surrounding neighborhoods and downtown businesses.

Project Timeline

Project Initiation (Summer 2024 - Complete)
Staff met the consultant, Stantec, to discuss scope of work and structure of the project.

Existing Conditions & Network Assessment (Fall 2024 - Complete)
An initial assessment of existing conditions is completed with Mesa provided data covering parking, micromobility, and walkability. The consultant will then assess Downtown Mesa with on-site data collection and through stakeholder & public meetings.

Recommendations (Winter 2024/2025)
Consultants will complete their analysis by reviewing existing city and statewide policies. They will then produce their recommendations for micromobility, walkability, and parking.

Final Plan (Spring 2025)
After producing a draft of the plan, the consultant will host stakeholder and public meetings to share the draft and incorporate any final feedback.
