Landlords -Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher

Our Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program provides rental payment subsidies on behalf of eligible very low-income families and individuals.

Before assistance can begin the unit must:

  • Be approved affordable for the family according to their income.
  • be rent reasonable compared to similar units.
  • Pass a Housing Quality Standards inspection.
  • Have a signed and executed HAP contract between the MHA and landlord.

New Landlords

After a tenant has been approved for your unit, you need to provide the following:

Visit myhousingsearch.com or call 877-428-8844 for toll-free assistance setting up your free listing account and start advertising available units to voucher holders.

Inspections

Program regulations set basic Housing Quality Standards (HQS), which all units must meet before assistance can begin on behalf of a family and at least biennially after initial move-in. HQS establishes the minimum criteria necessary for the health and safety for participants “A Good Place to Live” published by HUD.

Rent increase requests

Complete and email at least 60 days prior to effective date.

A partnership between the Mesa Police, property owners, landlords, and residents, working together to foster a safe community in rental properties.

 

 

Security Deposit Assistance
