Councilmember Dorean Taylor
District 2 - Central & Southcentral Mesa
Councilmember Dorean Taylor represents Mesa’s District 2. Dorean moved to Arizona because she enjoyed both the weather and the culture, and to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She has proudly called Mesa her home for nearly two decades. After marrying her husband, a Mesa native, they made this remarkable city their long-term home. Together, they have built their lives in Mesa—from being involved in a strong church and neighborhood community to establishing a successful Mesa-based business. The two have developed the kinds of neighborly relationships that make the City of Mesa welcoming, charming, and unique.
Councilmember Taylor holds both an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree, and she has professional experience in corporate training, business systems analysis, business analysis, and project management with a focus on process improvement. She and her husband are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Mesa’s economic vitality through operating their local business.
Guided by principled beliefs in accountability, fiscal responsibility, and the preservation of Mesa’s long-standing community values, Councilmember Taylor is dedicated to ensuring that city government remains efficient, effective, transparent, and responsive to the needs of its residents. Her priorities include ensuring excellent public safety services, maintaining robust infrastructure, addressing homelessness, and supporting policies that strengthen Mesa as an affordable and family-friendly place to live, work, and play.
