Register Your Bike

Bicycles are often stolen and many bicycle owners do not have their serial number recorded and in a safe place to provide to police. Without a description and serial number recorded, even if the stolen bicycle is recovered by police, it is very difficult to return the bicycle to its rightful owner.

By registering your bicycle/s with the Mesa Police Department, it will make it easier to return your stolen bike to you should it be recovered.

  • You will need to complete a form for each bicycle that you own (e.g.; you have two bicycles, complete one form for each bike).
  • Please be as accurate as possible with filling in the information.
  • Be sure to make a copy of the completed registration form for your records.
  • Submit the form to the Police Department by email, mail or in person
    • Email to fiestacrimeprevention@mesaaz.gov
    • Mail the form to
      • Mesa Police Department

Rental Scooters

On December 2, 2019, the City Council approved a pilot period of one year starting on February 1, 2020, to allow licensed providers of Shared Active Transportation Vehicles (SATV), including shared bicycles, e-bikes and scooters, to operate in Mesa if they abide by our Terms & Conditions(PDF, 220KB).

The License may be renewed annually at operator’s request and at the sole discretion of City, so long as Operator is in compliance with these Terms and Conditions, the related License, and all Applicable Laws.

  • The pilot program was renewed and will be reevaluated each year.
  • The license allows shared scooter and bicycle companies (listed below) to operate in Mesa right-of-way.
  • We have not imposed a service area, but coverage may be limited by the operator.
  • Scooters and bicycles may be ridden on sidewalks or on the street except in the Downtown Mesa “Walk Your Wheels” zone.
  • Scooters and bicycles are to be staged and parked at completion in the right-of-way. They must not block any sidewalk, ADA access or under bus shelters.
  • Users must yield to pedestrians.
  • Users must ride with traffic when in the street.
  • Users are encouraged to wear a helmet while operating SATVs.

For more information on shared vehicles please contact the current providers operating in Mesa:
